Chapter One - Loveless but Not Lost.

Times were rough on Carrie her first few days of her new life in Riverside. Not just because she didn't even have four walls around her, but she could barely survive each day that passed. Everything was going wrong, including a broken sink that she had to fix herself because she was too poor to hire a repairman. She was getting sick of living off the community buildings in town and starved for more. That's when she thought her luck had turned around, or had it? Quickly Carrie became friends with a rather handsome guy named Robert Newbie. He made her feel so safe and comfortable, comfortable enough to even invite him to her not-so appealing home.

Once Robert had arrived they quickly got into conversation and conversation had quickly turned into flirting. Before Carrie knew it, she had found herself kissing whom she hoped could turn out to be the love of her life. It could have been a great page turner, she thought to herself. The poor new girl meeting up with the man of her dreams! That was until he broke the news - ROBERT WAS MARRIED! Carrie felt so ashamed, she had never been a homewrecker. However, she couldn't help but wonder if maybe this was meant to be and to pursue it anyway. Unfortunately Robert abruptly informed Carrie he would never choose her over his wife, Mags Newbie. Their life and apparently, their fortune, was far more important. So Carrie's dream was shot in that instant, she decided they'd be just friends and she threw Robert out of her life for good.

Fortunately when Carrie finally thought all was lost she found comfort in her best friend Vadim Simovitch. Vadim and his wife, Fatima, had been nothing but gracious to Carrie since she had moved into Riverview. Even better, Vadim was also her boss and often began giving Carrie promotions and raises. Things were finally looking up, so much so that she had finally turned her home into a lovely... shack. She only hoped from here on out her luck would continue to turn around for the better.

  1. Oh! I know exactly how you feel. I thought I had found "the one" and then, like you, found out he was happily married. Since then I always zoom onto their hand to see if there is a ring or not.
    Good luck, I'll following along.
